SAN JOSE, Calif. (KCBS)_ San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and a City Council committee will meet Wednesday to discuss two requests to overrule the police department’s decision to not release case records.
One case involves a report from a man who says a 911 caller’s “false report” caused distress to him and his five-year-old daughter.
The other is from an apartment complex owner in Santa Cruz, whose property was the murder scene of a 19-year-old surfer last spring.
Reed campaigned on a pledge of open government, but turned down a proposal to automatically release certain records.
